Feasibility studies 

Feasibility studies are preliminary studies that are often undertaken in the very early stages of a project for determining the viability of a project. MC Architects are able to carry out feasibility studies of all project sizes from large to complex. Some of the assessments and products offered in the feasibility study include: 

  • Illustrations to render the design using draft drawings and/or digital modelling; 

  • Planning reports such as business cases, project execution plans and strategic briefs; 

  • Evaluation of existing conditions of the site, potential statutory approvals required and planning permissions. 

  • Studies of possibilities of the site and alternative options with comparative information. 

Concept design

Concept design is about testing the ideas and determining how the development can meet the client’s requirements. It also involves exploring some of the potential issue in detail and developing the ideas into something tangible. MC Architects not only provide the basics of a concept design, but also consider how the project can meet the client’s needs, how it can be executed within budget, making sure the full potential of the site is explored. The concept design will also include investigations regarding the applicable regulations and site controls that apply. 

Design development

The design development is about developing a set of drawings and renders to reflect what the result will look like. The end project of the design development that MC Architects produce will consider the actual site and building measurements, client feedback, regulations and council overlays. There is high level of detailed exercise at this stage to ensure that the plans and drawings are acceptable for submission to the relevant local council. 

Landscape design

MC Architects provide innovative landscape designs that are not only artistically planned but also practical and environmentally sustainable. Landscape architecture can be utilised at any stage and for all types of projects. Its applications included mixed use, residential and commercial development design. 

Interior design

MC Architects provide interior designs that can be utilised for developments but to also transform, modernise and add value to a house. MC Architects apply interior designing from not only an aesthetically appealing perspective but also in terms the functionality it provides to occupants. The product delivered by MC Architects is differentiated from other architecture firms as a holistic approach undertaken to ensure that the design is well interconnected to the external and internal environment of the design. 

ARCHITECTURAL SERVICE

Town planning application

The town planning application is a complex process and MC Architects are able to act and liaise on behalf of the client with the local council. The tasks involved include: 

 

  • Liaison with assigned town planner and provide information or amendments to management client objections and queries; 

  • Ensuring that council obligations are met and negotiation as necessary; 

  • Preparation of town planning report that is of sufficient detail to meet council requirements. 

Building permit application

When the planning permit approval is received, a building permit is required. The building permit is a document that specifies the building’s design and needs to be approved before the project can begin. The services provided in the building permit application stage include: 

  • Development of working drawings and building specifications which outline how the structure should be built; 

  • Identification of any building works that will project onto adjacent sites and street; 

  • Implementation of any amendments required by the relevant building surveyor; 

  • Identification of any buildings that are included on the Heritage Register. 

Planning consulting

The planning consulting stage is when the structure or design is ready to be implemented. MC Architects apply a great deal of detail in the documents to ensure builders understand the scope of work and are therefore able to provide accurate costs and time frame. This will help alleviate and management potential risks such exceeding project budget and delays. The service provided during the planning consulting stage includes: 

  • Development of the necessary documentation into a package for builders to quote their price and expected time frame for completion; 

  • The documentations include technical drawings, schedules, specifications and all other relevant application documents from early stages complied into a report; 

  • Provide a few quotes for comparison and negotiation; 

  • Co-ordinate consultants and ensure the design will be correlated from all aspects. 

Contract administration

Contract administration is applied when the structure and project is being built. During the contract administration stage, MC Architects will: 

  • Maintain the project on the client’s behalf; 

  • Apply quality checks and ensure project is being built as per specifications; 

  • Authorise relevant payments and answer questions from builders and clients 

  • Manage risk and ultimately ensure that the project is completed on time. 

Project management

MC Architects are able to provide project management from any stages of a project. MC Architects will act as a facilitator and ensure that all parties understand their responsibilities. Project management is an essential aspect of ensure designs are built as planned and also that they are completed as scheduled.
